FR// Un week-end à Edimbourg c'est le temps nécessaire pour profiter de ses deux visages : la ville en elle-même et sa géographie unique. Le matin, j'étais plongé dans le coeur de la ville, lové sur le lit king size de l'hôtel Twenty Princes Street (hôtel Indigo). Je me réveillais doucement avec cette vue saisissante à travers un grand bow-window. Ces fenêtres typiques de la Grande-Bretagne ont depuis toujours raisonné en moi comme une certaine ouverture d'esprit que j'apprécie d'ailleurs chez les britanniques. Ce boutique hotel a une vraie personnalité grâce à ses intérieurs élégants truffés de détails (miroir façon bibliothèque anglaise, murs de portraits écossais dans les escaliers), une personnalité qui vous rappelle que vous êtes en voyage et donne à celui-ci des souvenirs uniques. Sur la même rue, il y a le Scottish Monument et la National Gallery abritant en ce moment une collection d'aquarelles de Turner qui m'a transporté dans ce monde lumineux plein de poésie. L'après-midi, je partais à la recherche de non plus du corps de la ville mais de son âme car oui il est encore possible aujourd'hui de s'imaginer l'espace d'un instant comme les premiers hommes décidant de s'y installer. Gravir l'Arthur Seat ce volcan endormi sur lequel aurait été bâti Camelot, traîner des pieds dans le sable de Portobello Beach jusqu'à Leith ; voilà de quoi s'imprégner de quelques uns de ces éléments naturels qui ont permis ensemble la naissance de cette ville si atypique, presque magique.

In the morning, I woke up in the heart of the city, nestled on the king size bed of the Twenty Princes Street Hotel (Indigo Hotel) and in love with this striking view through a bow window. These typical windows of Great Britain have always meant like an open-mindedness to me that I am used to feel in British people. This boutique hotel has a real personality thanks to its elegant detailed interiors ( English library-like mirror, walls of Scottish portraits on the stairs). This personality reminds you that you are traveling and gives this kind of unique memories. On the same street, there are the Scottish Monument and the National Gallery, which now houses a collection of watercolors painted by Turner that bring me to this luminous world full of poetry for half an hour. In the afternoon, I decided to seek the soul of the city because it is still possible to feel as the first men deciding to settle in that lands. Climbing the Arthur Seat - a sleeping volcano on which Camelot would have been built - or waking barefoot on the sand of Portobello Beach until the port of Leith; are some of the things to do to feel the natural elements that made this atypical and almost magical city be born.
